Actor - Stage Director - Stage Manager - Lighting Designer
Jamie Foerst (He/Him) is a incoming Freshman in the Boston University Theater Department. Jamie has performed in numerous plays and musicals including: Midsummer Jersey (Lyle), Blue Stockings (Lloyd)*, Clue: On Stage (Col. Mustard), The Curious Savage (Samuel), Chicago (Sgt. Fogarty, Feat. Dancer), Something Rotten (Tom Snout, Feat. Dancer), and Urinetown (Hot Blades Harry). In addition to performing on stage, Jamie has been featured in two commercials for Newark Academy: one for the Newark Academy Day of Giving, and one for the Newark Academy Arts Department. Behind the curtain, Jamie has stage managed and assistant directed two productions with young actors (Puffs*, John Lennon & Me*), and has designed and called the lights for three dance concerts. In summer 2024, Jamie attended the Stonestreet Summer High School Screen Acting and Film Production Residency with NYU Tisch, in which he wrote, directed, and edited a short film entitled "Before I Spoke."
Jamie is a Montclair State University FOXY Award winning actor, having won for Outstanding Actor in a Contemporary Comedy, with an additional nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy Overall. Jamie's productions of Puffs and John Lennon & Me both received FOXY awards for direction and overall production.

In this production, Jamie served as an assistant director and the production stage manager alongside technical director Danny Viola, director Rachel Shapiro Cooper, and three other upper school production team members. This production was staged in the round with a cast of middle schoolers. This production won FOXY awards for Outstanding Direction and for Outstanding Actress.

Jamie served as the lighting designer for this fan made music video set to Childish Gambino's Lithonia. The video was filmed at, and equipment was provided by, Stonestreet Studios in New York, NY as part of the 2024 NYU Tisch Drama Summer High School Residency program.

A short comedic play directed by Jamie. Written by Charlie Goldstein. Premiered at the 2025 Newark Academy 24 Hour Play Festival. Jamie had approximately 12 hours from first seeing the script to showing it in front of a live audience. Featured actors: Maggie Gavenda, Cyann Leverett, Annabelle Bauer, and Lyra Brock.
Below is linked a production proposal for an immersive production of The Curious Savage by John Patrick in a big old house, or a venue like the Spring Lake Theater, or Rosecliff (one of the Newport Mansions). This production would attempt to ask the question: "what does it mean to be insane?"

Below is a production proposal for a production of Noises Off by Michael Frayn. The play itself explores the comedy inherent in a failing performance. This production would attempt to explore how physicalicality can create comedy, relationships onstage, and dynamic characters.
